ASML – ASML Holding NV ADR

ASML Holding NV ADR (ASML) was founded in 1984 and was formerly known as ASM Lithography Holding N.V. It changed it’s name to ASML Holding N.V. in 2001. The company designs, manufactures, markets, sells and services advanced semiconductor equipment. It is headquartered in Veldhoven, the Netherlands and operates globally in Asia (Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, China and other parts of Asia), Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the United States. It’s services include lithography, metrology, and inspection related systems for memory and logic chipmakers.

The company has a dominant market share of EUV machines, and is looking to expand it’s production capacity. Each EUV machine costs approximately US $183 million (€157 million), and has delivered 31 in 2020, a promise of delivering 44 in 2021, and aims to deliver 55/year by 2022, all within the same manufacturing unit. Analysts predict the ASML to have a capex spending of around US $1.16 billion approximately (€1 billion) during the next three years, hence an increase in capacity.
